Many people also use them in living spaces, on terraces and balconies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For outdoor areas, it is best to choose slip-resistant, frost-resistant tiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/marnit.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/zunanja-keramika.avif\" alt=\"Au\u00dfenfliesen\" class=\"wp-image-17941\" title=\"Outdoor tiles\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Advantages of tiles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tiles offer many advantages that make them so popular:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>They are very hard-wearing and wear-resistant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cleaning and care are easy. A mild cleaning product and water are enough.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are fireproof and withstand any weather.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are easy to cut and inexpensive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are made of natural materials, which makes them an environmentally friendly choice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They come in many formats, colours and patterns to suit any style.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can choose from many looks (stone, concrete, wood).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/marnit.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/keramicna-tla.avif\" alt=\"Fliesenboden\" class=\"wp-image-17944\" title=\"Tiled floor\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Laying tiles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most important thing when laying tiles: the substrate must be level, smooth and firm. Otherwise a tile can easily break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tiles may only be laid on dry and clean surfaces. Before laying, a primer is applied to reduce the absorbency of the substrate. In bathrooms and outdoors, waterproofing is added too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before laying, calculate how many tiles you need for the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Allow at least 10% extra, because there are offcuts when laying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then the adhesive is applied to the substrate. Only then will the result look good. The easiest way is with tile spacers or other spacing aids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once the tiles have been laid, it is best to leave them until the next day so that the adhesive dries properly.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then comes grouting. The grout is mixed according to the manufacturer\u2019s instructions and worked into the joints. Wipe off excess grout with a damp sponge without damaging the joints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Properly laid tiles last a very long time and are very easy to care for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have no experience of laying tiles, it is best to leave the work to professionals.
