Granite is an igneous rock: it forms when magma cools and crystallises. That is why it looks as if it were strewn with crystals or glitter. Granite is extremely hard and therefore very resistant to weather, chemical and mechanical damage and temperature changes.

Granite comes in many colours, and thanks to its durability it can be used practically anywhere.

Granite and its main advantages

  • Durability: The best types of granite show the first signs of wear only after more than 500 years. That is why granite is regarded as an “eternal” stone.
  • Strength: Granite is highly resistant to friction, pressure and abrasion. An extremely tough stone.
  • Resistant to weather and acids: granite is ideal for the exteriors of buildings because it withstands any weather.
  • Impermeable to water: Granite absorbs practically no moisture, which makes it ideal for cladding embankments.
  • Environmentally friendly: Granite is safe in terms of radiation and suitable for all building projects without restriction.
  • Lively texture: Unpolished, granite is a rough stone that absorbs light.
  • Easy to combine: Granite goes perfectly with wood, metal, ceramics and other modern building materials. It fits into any interior, whether classic or modern.
  • Wide choice of colours: Grey granite is the most common, but it also comes in red, pink, orange, blue-grey and blue-green.
  • Easy to clean: Granite is stain-resistant, inhibits bacteria and is easy to clean. A soft cloth and hot water are enough.

Thanks to its chemical, physical and mechanical properties, Granite is the best material for heavily used surfaces as well as for furnishings.

It is suitable indoors and outdoors: for commercial premises, residential buildings, floors, stairs, kitchen worktops and vanity tops, facades, monuments, fountains or interior furnishings.

Granite is a natural material. Variations in texture and colour are therefore possible and are part of its special appeal.

Stairs – Outdoors, flamed granite is mostly used, as it is also slip-resistant.

summer kitchens – Granite is the best choice for a summer kitchen worktop because it is non-porous and water-resistant. Choose lighter shades of granite: dark ones heat up faster and get very hot.
