Did you know these facts about granite?

Beauty, durability, strength and many other qualities: this is what granite brings to your home, and why so many people choose it for their house or flat. Because of its composition, granite is one of the most common and technically important natural stones. Its texture, range of colours, hardness and durability make it ideal for indoors and outdoors. Although granite is so well known and popular, you probably do not know these facts yet.
  1. Granite is found in many famous buildings
This natural stone has been used for some of the world’s best-known buildings, from the USA to China. The pedestal of the Statue of Liberty in New York is made of granite, and the faces of US presidents are carved into Mount Rushmore, a granite mountain.
  1. Granite comes in many colours and natural patterns
When people think of granite, many think of white, black, beige or grey. These colours look beautiful in any home, but the choice is much wider. Granite also comes in pink, green and blue, as well as in different styles and patterns.
  1. Granite is extremely robust
Granite is so hard that it can damage kitchen knives if you are not careful when cutting. So on a granite kitchen worktop it is better to use a chopping board. You can put hot pots and pans straight down without worry, as the heat does not harm the stone. If you want to be extra careful, use trivets anyway. On the Mohs hardness scale, where 1 stands for the softest and 10 for the hardest materials, granite ranks 8th.
  1. Granite is very easy to care for
Granite is the easiest natural stone to care for. You only need to clean it and, if necessary, reseal the joints between the slabs and the wall. It is best to use cleaners intended for granite.\n\nGranite adds value to your home, because it is in great demand. It stands for elegance and that certain something we look for when furnishing.
