Cleaning and caring for natural stone
Natural stone is very easy to clean, but a few tips will keep it beautiful for even longer. Most importantly, the surface should have no pores, because dirt collects in them. Pores can be sealed, which makes cleaning much easier.
Clean as regularly as possible. First sweep the floor or surface or wipe it with a dry cloth. Then use a special natural stone cleaner in warm water.
Without major stains, warm water alone is often enough. Pay particular attention to spilt liquids.
To prevent a permanent stain, wipe up spills immediately. A damp cloth is usually enough. As a precaution, rugs, mats and place mats on the table or kitchen worktop protect your natural stone surfaces.
We strongly advise against vinegar essence and acidic cleaners on natural stone.
Take care when vacuuming too: worn wheels can damage the stone surface.
With stone floors, never forget the joints. That is where most dirt collects, and if it is not cleaned it spreads over the whole surface.
